Geoffrey Poulton is a professional trombonist, composer and audio engineer, with over forty years of professional playing experience encompassing a wide variety of styles from big band jazz and dance orchestra, to symphony orchestra and recital work, with numerous orchestras and ensembles, in concert halls, theatres, hotels and recording studios.

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra - The Million Airs Concert Orchestra (formed from the Syd Lawrence Orchestra)
The Mantovani Orchestra - Manchester Sinfonia - Atarah ben Tovim Band - Tower Ballroom Orchestra, Blackpool - The Tony Hatch Orchestra - The All Stars Big Band - The English Philharmonic Orchestra, along with invitations from the BBC Northern Radio Orchestra (NDO), Syd Lawrence Orchestra, and a variety of freelance orchestras etc.

In addition to many recordings for both B.B.C. and commercial studios, he has performed regularly in most of the major concert halls and theatres in the U.K.

The Royal Albert Hall, London - Fairfield Hall, Croyden - Birmingham Town Hall - Usher Hall, Edinburgh - Pavilion, Brighton - City Hall, Newcastle - Guildhall, Southampton - City Hall, Hull - Tower & Empress Ballrooms, Blackpool - Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool - Free Trade Hall, Manchester - King Georges Hall, Blackburn - City Hall, Glasgow - Albert Halls, Stirling - Guildhall, Preston - Winter Gardens, Bournemouth - NEC, Birmingham - Colston Hall, Bristol - St. Davids Hall, Cardiff along with many others, and theatres ranging from Her Majestys Theatre Drury Lane, Victoria Palace Theatre and other West End theatres, to numerous provincial theatres throughout the United Kingdom.

He has worked extensively as a backing musician for recording and stage artists, toured Belgium, Germany, working in the Middle-East and New York and performing in Royal Command Performances.

Much of his time as a professional arranger has been spent in writing for musical theatre. As a composer he has written for orchestra, brass band, and for voices.

His work as an audio engineer is largely conducted under the umbrella of HARLEQUIN RECORDING, under which he has produced many albums for both the HARLEQUIN label, and for various bands, choirs, ensembles and soloists, and along with these are recordings made on behalf of other record companies.
